IN THE FOURTH SUMMIT OF HEADS OF STATE TO BE HELD IN MADRID

The president of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez, and Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive, today urged the international community to participate in the World Conference on the Future of Haiti to the "re" in this country devastated by the earthquake on Jan. .

According to the Dominican president, the participating countries may evaluate "their effective cooperation with Haiti."

Fernández recalled that according to calculations will be needed 10,500 million dollars over the next ten years for the reconstruction of Haiti.
So far, he said, have already committed U.S. $ 5,200 million from institutions like the Inter-American Development Bank and donor countries.
